Jonathan David, of Kwethluk, Convicted of Sexual Assault

(Bethel, AK) – Yesterday, following a week-long trial, a Bethel jury found Jonathan David, 38, guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, three counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, two counts of Incest, and one count of Resisting or Interfering with Arrest.
The convictions stem from multiple incidents in 2021 where David engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts with a family member. He had previously been convicted of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Minor against the same victim.
David remains in custody with no bail pending sentencing, which is scheduled for March 20, 2026. He faces a sentence of up to 99 years for each of the sexual assault and incest charges and one year for the resisting arrest charge.
Assistant Attorney General Jessica Haines of the Office of Special Prosecutions prosecuted the case with the assistance of Paralegal Bethany Kaiser of the Bethel District Attorney’s office and Paralegal Meghan Thompson of the Office of Special Prosecutions. The Alaska State Troopers investigated the case.
